I don't usually do the ostrich head-in-the-sand act, but I couldn't watch the election returns or the news. You can hear a pin drop around my office today. A combination of anxiety, depression, and even embarrassment over the message this will send to the world about the state of the US. At least we still have the House and Senate to buffer the worst of the Red Rump. But many of us up in AK realize "drill baby drill" will probably be heard a lot louder from now on.The election was problematic. I am just hoping so much the actual presidency isn't as much of a problem.
I don't know why (other than simple spiteful ignorance) people assume that non-Trump voters were Clinton voters. Not the case. Not everyone is a knee-jerk decision maker. I know I will see less and less attention paid to environmental issues over the next few years and many of the resulting decisions will not be reversible. I know I will see more of my beloved state pillaged and discarded if there's any money to be squeezed out of it. Utterly depressing and demoralizing. Not just because of the president, but because of the cascade of bureau and management agency appointments he'll direct. I do tend to see more of the impacts of elections because I work in gov't and see the direct results. Not to be melodramatic, but the Kleenex box on my bookshelf is getting a lot of use and I can't eat.I am worried a lot about the ecosystem and the entire earth, with Trump as president. Though honestly I am not sure Hilary would have been much better in that respect. I was voting for a third party. However I am more sad about the fact of how everyone is reacting to this choice. I mean I feel sad that we are so ashamed and anxious of our own president choice... I don't think it should ever be this bad.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA !!!!! Made my day.Atlas has informed me that the orange lipped parsons are now celebrating and that the yellow eyes feel marginalized. He's asking if he can form a coalition with the bearded dragon and the leopard geckos. They might then even reach out to the tree boas for additional support but he really doesn't trust those rodent eaters.
I asked him if there really were that many orange lipped ones out there, his response was "Not according to the polls but they came out of the trees and everywhere else."
