hey guys im getting a baby panther and i know they need high humidity and i was thinking of gettinga mister or a fogger since i go to school
im leaning towards
exo-terra monsoon
or a repti fogger since their cheaper
i might save up for a mist king if you guys say those two are terrible
what do u guys recommend outa the two or would you say mist king is worth the money compared to the other 2

I havent used the other 2 personally but for me I would rather wait a little while longer and get something that I know is not going to break and if for some reason it does it will be covered, thats why I went with mistking.

i heard there is a extremely simple kit for the mistking for 99$

Marty is a site sponsor for mistking here on the forums, if you pm him he can tell you the best place to order one from to save on shipping probably

this kit is great for a beginner, as it only comes with one nozzle. it also EXcludes the timer from the package, but i think Marty Sells them on on the site for $25-29. worth every penny though.

Yes, the $99 system comes with the timer. Right now MistingDepot has them and Pangea just got them. More places coming shortly. Of course you can get them at MistKing.com also, but shipping will be a bit more.

i use the reptifogger and it works good for humidity but its not used a a water source. I have a dripper along with it for the cham to drink.

it comes with the timer

oh no way, did they always come with timers? lol from what i remember it wasnt in the options list before. oh well, proved me wrong, but proves more PROS in the "should i buy a mistking" decision or not

Is there a way to get a second nozzle for misting?
I have two chams who free range, and i want one nozzle to mist each set up.

Anything made by exoterra is a piece of complete garbage, and anyone who says otherwise is a complete idiot

Buy a 60$ ultrasonic humidifier and run a tube from it to your enclosure, it'll provide fog as long as u need, and allow water pools to form on the leaves and drip, best investment i made.

A mistking is great and misting systems are fantastic, but If you get a humidifier and hand mist (which takes literally 45 seconds) twice a day, you're more than fine. I have a 24''x24''x48'' cage and my humiditiy never drops below 70% just from those

DO NOT EVER buy your chameleons both the monsoon or the repti fogger. The monsoon is having extreme problems and apparently it drowns juvenile chameleons as the misting nozzle breaks and turns into a jet stream. The timer on it maufunctions and it often will stay on for hours at a time and the water resevoir is prone to bacterial gorwth and leaking. The foggers are ok for humidity, but the way the machine turns water to fog is said to cause liver and kidney problems for reptiles. I have been using Mist Kings master system for 7 months now, it has a fine enough mist where it wont drown the babies, it keeps humidity up, and its drinkable. I would highly reccomend getting mistking 99 dollar setup, or if you plan to breed or get more, get the 200 dollar setup. If you dont have enough money for mist king, the habba mist is a nice, lower end misting system. I hope i helped. :D

hey dork-wad be nice around here, feel free to speak your mind, but no ones an idiot. humidifiers arent always a good idea. hand misting isnt always do-able. people like to try and have leisure lives aside from their hobby, and hand spraying is something we hate after a long period of time.

do you keep your humidifier clean? ALWAYS? does your species even NEED that constant high humidity? you do know you risk URI problems?

Not ALL Exo-Terra products are bad or poorly made. though there are curtain products i wouldnt buy or suggest. And i deffinately vote a big No for the monsoon

That's a great idea, I always think it's better to go with something that's quality considering ur trying to provide your reptile the best life psbl

And everyone is far to sensitive, exoterra monsoon and reptifogger are both products that can potentially kill your animal, nO questions asked there. So if you are utilizing those products u would not b a wise individual, I'm surprised ppl would phrase it any differently.

I have an exoterra background, which looks nice but was a $40 piece of styrofoam.

Try raising a reptile in nyc, I had to b creative with space considering u can pay $2000 a month for a small one bedroom studio, and taking ur pet outdoors is impossible, I've had to do alot of research and spend alot o time n money to keep his life quality, and it's worked great

the reptifogger can potentially (although not very likely) kill your chameleons chameleons are particularly sensitive, as for the monsoon, if it worked it would have been one of the best misters on the market, the things they incorporated in it were original and nice, but it didnt work, but it was the first of its kind. Exo terra is a repudable company, their products just arent as good for chameleons, they are one of the best for dessert species and sub tropical species. and the problems with their fogger is the same with all foggers, exo terra has one of the best build foggers of them. its all about the specific product
