Awaiting arrival and have a question about daily schedual

Our first chameleon will be arriving on Friday. He is a male veiled and his name is Chewy. He is supposed to be 7-8 inches in length, so I am assuming he is 3 to 4 months old. I had a question about daily scheduling. We will be turning his lights on at 7a and off at 7p. I assume that a bit of time to warm in the morning before misting is the way to go. Should we feed him right away? Wait a bit? After placing the crickets in his enclosure, how long should we wait to mist? I assume any water on the crickets will wash off the calcium dust. I am so nervous and want to do all I can to try an ensure his health and survival. I see an awful lot of posts out there from first time keepers who instantly have probs w/ their chams. I am hoping that there are an equal number of first time keepers that have a positive experience too. Thank you in advance of any advice.

I am fairly new to chameleons. I have had mine for two weeks as of yesterday. This is what I do. I have the mist start 1 hour or so after lights on, so he can wake up and warm up a little. Then about 4 hours or so later, I come home for lunch and feed him. This still gives him ample time to bask and digest before lights out. I cup feed sometimes, but he is starting to enjoy the hunt when they escape the cup. :) So then I toss in a few and cup a few. I am still nervous with him on things. But don't stress too much, it will more than likely be okay. **trying to practice what i preach**
