baby ambilobe

so here is my little boy/girl. im leaning toward boy though. howeverer this is my first new born and i was wondering if anyone had opinions on my set up of the babe. its 26in H 24in W and 12in D. 60 watt basking, raised off the top slightly and at an angle. 5.0 ubv tube. I have towel wrapped around the cage to block sight of other chams and increase humidity. temps in my room are in the upper 70's. Im kinda concerned about the plant though, i was wondering if maybe a small ficus might be better for a little one.(im going to call it he now) He seems to hang out on the top alot and am kinda concerned he might not get enough water. Please post any ideas or comments on my housing or care. thank you,
brandon

Where did you get him? For me I use a bucket/plastic bin with bug stop on the top edge. Inside it I put some fake plants and layer the bottom with paper towels. I throw in fruitflies and pinheads crickets. I just use a UVB tube over it. No basking light because they are too young and can be easily burn.

he is a baby from my ambilobe named Kinky. i think i might have to try the plastic bin method then, I guess he is just a bit smaller then i expected. does upper 70's sound right? 76-79 degrees?

You'll probably want to tub that little one, it is far too young for such a large enclosure and will have trouble locating food.

i have a tub soaking right now. and i got a nice small ficus that ill turn on its side. i picture that working well in my head at least. here is a picture of the sire.

make sure the ficus is cleaned well.. I believe they produce a sap that irritates the cham's eye. I only use ficus for my veiled and umb tree or pothos for my panthers. I love the umbrella tree and they work well for me. 2 dollars for a small umb tree at lowe's.

umbrellas seem like there isnt enough suface area for water or hiding places, if you have no issues i might try it though. ill make sure to clean the ficus well. the ficus is in perfect condition, i dont see any fresh breaks anywhere so hopfully there wont be any sap issues. thank you everyone for all your help and comments

They can hide under the leaves.. Mine does it all the time.. I don't know just what I like I guess. Ficus seems to messy for me.. falling leaves... sometimes I get itchy handlin it also. I also like the look of the umbrella tree over ficus. Give me some more updates as well.. Would like to hear about it. Good luck with all the babies! I am not a breeder.... but can't wait when the day comes..

when he gets bigger, get a croton plant in there. i use it for my veiled, and it looks beautiful and supplies cover, water, and a good place to crawl.
