Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled Cham female owned 5 weeks not sure of age
Handling - about every 2-3 days
Feeding - wax worms, super worms, crickets, and recently gave some watermelon/organic letuce/tomatoe
Supplements - calcium spray every other day
Watering - misting and a dripper but i have only occassionally seen her drink
Fecal Description - never seen her poop never been tested for parasites
History - was in a cage with a larger male cham but never saw them fight or even show aggression toward each other. swear they even cuddle and he is protective of her. they are now seperated as of today because i am afraid she is sick and the male is showing no sxs of infection or anything else. i bought this cham at petco but she was alone at the time with no other chams in the cage, last one. she is small like 3-4 inches only and has always been minimally active.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - glass 18x18x24
Lighting - only the 50 watt bulb that came with the cage no uvb atm
Temperature - 90 at basking 80 in the leafy areas and light off at night so 75.
Humidity - 70 to 30 managed with spraying the cage 2-3 times a day
Plants - hibiscus
Placement - middle of a warm room 72 degrees
Location - texas

Current Problem - found the cham at the bottom of the cage 2 days in a row laying in water which had accumulated at the cage bottom. this time she was lathargic and does not even grip branches, just kind of lays there. i took picture up loaded below.

Glass cage, two chams in one cage, she looks dehydrated and starved, came from pretco, handling every 2 days just after purchase, no uvb, etc... I hate sounding harsh, but a lot needs correcting here. Have a look at this sites caresheets, PLEASE.

Unfortunately this is a little too late to be asking for help and advise for this one. However, Junglefries is correct. You need to get the husbandry fixed ASAP or the male will quickly join her.

Agree with the others. Get a uvb ASAP or you are going to have another sick chameleon on your hands.

sorry fogot to mention gut loaded crickets and sprayed them. and i take them out to sun bath with me.

i had the little one seperated for a week with the best cage and she hasn't improved. bought smaller crickets and she would rather have them walk on her than eat them. used a dripper in the cage daily to make sure she would see water dripping even had to drain the cage twice because there was a pool of water above the pebbles.

i read the care form you all added. i had followed all rules but the 2 chams in the same cage but the little one would literally be riding the big one some times and he would hiss at me if i tried to grab her.

the little one rarely got really handled because she was never active would just sleep from day one. even had to seperate her to even see if she was eating.

i am not sure what to do at this point.

can i force feed fluids or food to her.
i am also a nurse and have access to iv supplies but she is so so small.

In your orig post you said you separated them as of today and your last post you said it has been a week they are not together. Not that it matters at this point because they should never be together. I don't think they have built the relationship you think they did I don't think chameleons have emotions like that but what do I know.

The other two things you missed from the care sheet is one the UVB bulb which is HUGE and the second is the glass tank which should be screen. I would not force feed that baby it seems so weak. That cham looks so dehydrated and I would think fluids is the first thing.

sorry in original post ment they are not even in visible range of each other.

the thing is the other one under the same conditions is doing amazing good.

i dont see how she was dehydrated i spray tha cage and her 3 times a day and there is a dripper in there.

all i can think is that maybe the food was too big or i mis inturpited there relationship but they were alway on top of each other and no aggressive behavior.

but even seperated she did not improve.

If her eyes were closed from day one, they she probably had an underlying condition when you got her and things have obviously worsened. I would get a calcium dust without d3 and start dusting your crickets instead of spraying. Most all of use the dusting method and I am not sure how successful the spraying is as far as them getting the calcium they need. Taking them out in the sun in great, but if they are not out for long, I would still get the uvb bulb. It possible she has a parasite. Some parasites can be contagious and seeing that they were housed together ,I would suggest you get a fecal done on the other one to make sure he is parasite free.
