Baby Cham set up questions

Hi I'm getting 2 baby panther chameleons in 2 weeks and I want to make sure everything I'm getting is correct since these will be my first chams.

I'm getting a male and female ambilobe pair both 10 weeks old.

-For an enclosure I purchased two 22gallon reptariums. Since they have to be separated. With something blocking their view of one another.

-For heat I purchased two zoo med mini deep domes with two 50 watt basking bulbs.

-For UVB lighting I purchased 30 inch reptisun terrarium hood with an 24inch reptisun 5.0 bulb to go across both cages.

Please let me know your opinions and advice , I've been doing alotttt of research so I'm hoping I'm on the right track

I would use screen cages.

You can return the basking lights you got, and just use regular house bulbs. Its cheaper.

You need a bunch of foliage to make them feel safe.

Do you have your supplements?

how do you plan to water them?

It is a screen cage just a nylon mesh material. , its not glass . And I do plan on getting an all aluminum screen cage for their adult cages.

For supplements I got
Calcium w/ out d3
& calcium w/ d3

I still haven't purchased the herptivite but plan on it.

For misting I'm using a hand pressure mister for now
Till I buy the mist king system and I might make a dripper for them as well

I live in south Florida so humidity and temp should be fine as I keep my house between 75-77 ( I don't like the cold )

Also I had a question I've read that people keep there chameleons outside in s.florida , is that ok for me to do when they reach an appropriate age ?

Hi and welcome to the forum!! :)

it sounds like you've got a pretty good idea on what you need! great job doing the research first thats really awesome :) i have read about a lot of keepers having their chams outside sometimes when the weather is appropriate as long as they are secure and away from harm!
have you looked into what kind of feeders you're going to be using?

Thank you I definitely want to keep them outside then and make them a custom enclosure just wasn't sure if it was ok.

For feeders I was going to do pinhead crickets and fruit flies since there so small. Any other suggestions ?

Techincally any age.

Its just dependent on temps.

I wouldnt put a 3 month old outside in 90 deg temps..

but 80 deg temps are fine.

pinhead crickets and fruit flies are good to start with. this blog has lots of feeder ideas https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/sandrachameleon/74-feeders.html
some of the site sponsors sell different kinds of feeders so you can check that out! the general rule of thumb is not to feed your cham anything that is longer then the space between the chams eyes. so you can check out the blog with different feeder ideas and the see what you can find online and locally and try different stuff out from there as long as you make sure its not too big for the cham so they dont choke on it!! :)
