Baby Chameleon Not Eating

When I had to scramble to get crickets for my little guy, I stopped at my local Petco to get a large cricket keeper. They had a jackson that had its eyes closed and looked very skinny. There was a young lady there looking at her and talking to the sales associate. After the store employee left, I told her not to buy it because it was already pretty ill and probably won't make it much longer.

I applaud you for trying to save her. But if you can't, don't take it as a personal failure. I'd get a healthy one from one of the breeders on this site.

No it’s definitely understandable! Thank you for your help I’m hoping things can be better but I’m prepping for the worst right now she doesn’t seem to be holding herself up anymore or clinging onto anything I have her propped up on one of the leaves of her new real plant under the basking light. I just want her to be as comfortable as possible.
So sorry to hear that things have gotten worse:(

I wish I had found this group much sooner you guys are great and I think I would have been able to save her if I had known sooner. I will NOT be buying any other animals from a pet store and if I do end up getting another chameleon I will come and check out what you guys have to offer. Seriously thank you to you and the community here for caring for the chameleons so much!

:hugs:. I’m sorry this was your first experience, and I can see that you really care to get the correct things fixed and making her comfortable omg my heart breaks for that baby and you. I recommend reptile conventions if this is a creature you’re still wanting to take on after this tragic dealing. This forum is amazing with advice in creating great spaces for your Cham, and everything else. If you have the heart, and I believe you do, there are other chameleons out there who need a proper owner.
