Baby chameleon won’t eat?

So I just got my baby veiled Chameleon yesterday from a breeder online (Fl chams) he’s about 2-3 months old. Currently housed a 16X16X30 reptibreeze. (I understand that I will need to upgrade him soon as he grows) I’m pretty sure that it may take him time before he eats until he can acclimate to his new home...But just wanted to see how long it normally takes for them to eat. Currently I have tried hand feeding small mealworms and also offer a couple of mealworms in a dish for him always available. He has not touched it. I did see him lick a drop of water today from a leaf so I’m guessing that’s a good sign maybe. Does anyone else feed baby chams small mealworms? Right now that’s all that I have available for him, My local Petstore is out of all feeder basically. I orders some soldiers fly larvae and fruit flies, will these be ok to feed him?

So you should not feed mealworms. They are very low in nutritional value. How small is he exactly? He should be used to eating small crickets. That is what breeders typically feed at this age. Fruit flies may work but may also be a bit small for him now. This is what hatchlings are given.

Have you tried ordering from rainbow mealworms? https://www.rainbowmealworms.net/1-week-2mm-crickets/
At this age they eat as much as they want up to 2 dozen feeders a day. It is extremely important to have feeders for him. They can get sick from not eating very quickly when they are this young. Rainbow has next day delivery still I believe.

Additionally I would fill out this form in detail so we can make sure you have all the right info. Please add pictures of your enclosure lighting down and the baby.
