Hi All,
I have used this forum for so long but only as a guest because I have always found the answer to my question! I apologise if this is in the wrong section...there are so many!
I have had two batches of panther chams hatch. 1st batch started hatching April 9th, there were 23/26 hatched. They have been great, feeding, drinking, pooing, shedding and of course growing. I quickly separated them out in to sizes so that there would be no issues for feeding and dominance. All was going really well....until I noticed in the cage with the largest babies that when they crawled on the roof of the viv that the bottom of their backs were concave/dipped (as opposed to the nice curve) but look completely normal when they are the right way up. I contacted a friend of mine who said that it was because they had grown so quickly they haven't had enough calcium in their system to keep up. I am devastated, I dust their food every day, they have new UV bulbs in the hood, and I even take them out in batches in a netted terrarium so that they can get sunshine (I seriously need to get a life outside chams!). Has anyone experienced this before, are the chams in pain, what does this mean long term for them?
All the other babies are normal backed and the ones with the issue climb and walk with no problem.
I would really appreciate your advice x
