Baby Furcifer campani

Well done Kevin. One of my favorite species. I doubt most people will know this, but you hatching those are an event of significance.

Have you found the females to be aggressive as I did back in the 90's? It was an odd trait since it was the only species I ever found where the females were that way and males less so.

It was '93, I had a nice female Campani and placed her on a branch in my Parson's free range. Why? Because whenever she saw my Parson from her habitat she would go nuts and try to get out instead of hiding. So, this tiny little critter goes rocking back and forth all the way up about 3' of branches to chase off the Parson. She weighed all of I think 15g? to his 900+.

She got within about 12" before he decided to respond to her. He raised himself to his full height, flattened himself out and turned sideways. She then turned around and ran like hell.

I had to put her in a different room after that, she wouldn't come out of her plants after poking the bear.

Good job Kevin, more pictures and keep Laurie away from the babies.

Congrats Kevin! Beautiful mom and such a precious little baby.

Not only are you the Carpet King you are also the Campani King!

Haha-yes the girls rock right off their branches when they see a male and aren't receptive. The mother to these babies is only 9-11 grams depending on whether or not she is gravid. I think she is gravid right now with a 6th clutch.

I love them Jann. Hopefully I'll get lucky with many more hatchlings :)
