Can a baby panther eat a wax worms? I picked the smallest wax worm and dropped it in to see what happened. All 4 of them look at the wax worm. One standed over the wax worm and looked at it for 1 min and then he decide to bit the head and didn't let go. I grab my camera and took a vid. Would he be able to finish it? I wasn't so sure but it was a good thing he let go. The worm is soft so he can easily digest it right? Well here is a short clip of it.

this is just me... but i am not comfortable feeding young baby chameleon a waxworm that big regardless that it's soft bodied.
But, you are talking to somebody who doesn't even feed waxworm to his adult chams

My chameleons (idk whether they are unfortunate or fortunate) will never get any access to wax worms and meal worms under my care.

I think it was obvious from the first that the worm was too big. Please be responsible with your baby. Pin heads and fruit flies are the correct size. Even a 2 week old cricket would work.

I would never feed my chameleon meal worms! wax worm is like a treat, once every two days or so. I didn't feel comfortable at all and just wanted to see their reaction to the worm. Definately when they get 3 times as big I will feed them wax worms. I'll be getting in some silkworms tomorrow and if I see some really small ones I know for sure they can eat the silky. :D Also are phonix worms smaller then wax? I'm getting some of those in tomorrow as well.

I am being responsible. I know they can easily take down the crickets. Didn't expect them to attempt to eat the wax worms. Thought the wax worm is harmless and soft. He went for it, so the question was if he can finish it. I already took the wax worms out. The worm did look smaller then the gap inbetween their eyes.
