Baby panther hatched! Help!!

Most feed fruit flies when they are this tiny right out of the eggs. Then work them into pin head crickets.
Ok and dust them with powder like adults or not yet? He ate one so far that I saw but is also closing eyes periodically. Here is his nano set up

I’ve never seen anything like that before. I wonder if you could have injured him squeezing him out of the egg. It’s best to let them get out of the egg on their own. It just takes time. Sometimes all day and even overnight.
I agree with @jannb ….but whatever is done is done and you have to move on from here. Hopefully it will be okay.

It’s such a shame that there is still so much bad info out there or info that is not specific enough….and no way for a beginner to know the difference between the facts and the wrong information.

I’ve always used pinhead crickets to start off hatchlings …but fruit flies are fine too. I just hated fruit flies and felt I could gutload the crickets easier.
Dust them with phos free calcium powder lightly at each feeding. Vitamins with D3 and a preformed source of vitamin A twice a month lightly. Provide a good UVB light source. Water from a very fine mist.

Ok thanks! so phos free calcium is likely different than the calcium without d3 that I use for the adults? Does repashy have vitamins with d3 and vitamin A? UVB ✅

If you take pics of the labels of your supplements I can tell you exactly what they do or do not have. I would start dusting with the calcium without D3 but very lightly. They should not be coated in it.

What is your distance from the bottom of the fixture to the cage top?

Just under 8 inches from top of cage to bottom of light. He's been closing eyes off and on today, eyes look slightly sunken but has been eating and drinking. I probably put too much powder on them today, def were coated. What I fed him yesterday had none so hopefully it balances out for today

ok that should be good then. Especially if baby is staying down in the plant. fingers crossed baby does well for you. It is always hit and miss with eggs and hatching them out. I am 6 years into this hobby and this is still one thing I have never been willing to take on. I would be a nervous basket case lol.

Your supplement is correct. Just do a tiny pinch into a cup and gently shift around the bugs into it then pour into what ever your using to feed baby. They need to eat quite a bit at this stage.
