Baby Veiled Chameleon

Also, Can Chams deal with traveling. I read that this can cause stress, but someone said that if you put the cham in a shoe box with a stick going through the box. They will get in the box and since its black inside they will automatically start sleeping. Thoughts.
I travel far enough to where i would have to bring the cham and couldn't leave it with a friend. I can give details
It can be very stressful for them, yes. I take mine to the vet in a box with a small vine to attach on to. If you make sure it is completely dark they usually will fall asleep. Just make sure when you do travel if it is in a box it is somewhere it isn't going to get shook around or move. But i would contact FL Chams like was said with questions regarding the chameleons they have for sale. I'm sure they are more than willing to answer any questions.

Ok, I travel from pennsylvania to canada once every year and stay there for a month. Would i set up the cage and act like nothing has changed?

I also have another question. I know people don't like to judge people based on things they say or similar topics. But do i seem...knowlegeble or know enough to own a chameleon. I don't want it to have a... suckey life i you know what i mean.

I have looked at the boarder patrol and if you state the animal you can usually pass along if it is captive bred and stcricly kept as a pet. Unless you mean it would be a bad idea for the cham.

You would need the proper paper work to take him across the line and it’s very expensive. I have a really good chameleon friend that lives there.

I wonder how much it is, we bring the dog across every year with no paper work or problems

My friend Trace posted in the link I gave you above and it’s $600.00. Ive also heard if you try to sneak them across and they catch you that they confanscate them.

Use the search function at the top right and see what all you can find out about taking a chameleon from the US to Canada. It’s been talked about on here many times.

Ok thanks. I have asked other people on this forum, but is it worth the extra 40 bucks on FL Chams for the premium bloodline.

Yes definitely! It this is your first chameleon you will want to get a bigger one which they call premium. The regular chameleons are small and harder for a first time keeper to keep alive. I have beautiful babies that I will offer for sale soon and began shipping at the end of Feb. as weather permits. I will be posting here in the classified section soon but you can see them and their bloodline here.

Ok thank-you. I have read that pet insurance is a good idea. Opinion? Its $9 per month

I wouldn’t be without it. A vet that has chameleon experience is very important too. Where do you live? I might be able to recommend a good chameleon vet.
