Baby Veiled eating pothos

Pothos is essentially a safe plant for chameleons, but if ingested in large quantities apparently it can be toxic. I happen to have a baby veiled that has been eating the pothos like crazy the past 2 days. My hibiscus are very large for the babies at the moment and no stores carry hibiscus just yet, so finding a small one is a challenge. What plants can anyone recommend for a baby veiled who just started plant eating. I have been offering him a salad medely but he keeps eating the pothos. So I want to remove the pothos and replace it with something. Any suggestions?

Also, the feeders are gutloaded well. Spirulina powder, bee pollen, kashi cereal, kale, melon, oranges, carrots.

Sorry mods if this is in the wrong section. It kind of has to do with food, but also with supplies. So I wasn't sure exactly where it should go.

Give your baby some fruits and veggies to eat. Try collard greens, apple, banana, strawberry, grape or pear. Most veileds love fruits and veggies. :D

You could always get a schefflera but from my experience my chameleons like that much more than the pothos thats in there too. You never know you could try it or if you can find a decent ficus they are great.

Maybe buy a hibiscus online? Or throw some hibiscus leaves in there? Pan eats his pothos, but I'm not too worried about it. He likes hibiscus and pothos better than fruit and greens. Some members chameleons eat whole pothos plants and are fine.

Okay, thanks for the tips. He eat 3/4 of the pothos in the past 2 days but seems totally fine. I will go try to find small ficus and hibiscus. Lowes and Home Depot both said they should arrive any day. I included in the salad collard greens, oranges, shredded carrots and some hibiscus flowers. Hopefully, he will decide to eat what I offer him and not the pothos.

It's not the season for them, but any variety of vitis (grape vine) will be demolished by him. When I had them in last summer he ate them so much there was a hole in my pocket.

After he first started to acquire his taste for them I started to grow them! I have 6 that when summer kicks in should be ready for his consumption! Hopefully if I can keep one outside long enough it'll have grapes that he really goes nuts for.

How do you keep your schefflera alive? I couldn't in my vivs they seemed to always die :( I know they don't like wet feet but mister causes it. Any advice? Thanks!

I would start my own thread. Did you notice this thread is from 2010? Do you have a plant grow light in you cage like a 6500k?

How do you feed fruits to your chameleons? You just leave them in a bowl in the cage somewhere? Cut them into small pieces?
