Hello everyone. I have a 2 month old baby veiled chameleon and currently have a uvb bulb for her, I was wondering if there was a specific bulb I should be using for her. I have the one they gave me at the pet store, thanks.

Which is what bulb exactly? But most likely the wrong one places usually send people home with. Is it a coil or linear? You will want a linear reptisun 5.0 or arcadia 6%.

I’m not exactly sure, but I was going to the pet store tomorrow to get roaches for my panther so I was just going to grab a new bulb while I was there.

You will most likely need to order it online, your pet store might have it, but I know mine never has the t5 5.0. I paid about $60 for the hood I think, then you need an extra 5.0 bulb which you will replace every 6 months

Is there anyway you could send me a link to the bulb and the hood I would need, the cage is 2x2x4 foot tall. I just want to make sure I get the right one if I’m ordering it online .

This is the 24 inch hood, it comes with a 5.0 bulb which is great , but it is always a good thing to have an extra, you will need to replace this bulb every 6 months:

This is the bulb that you can buy separately to have an extra, since you have a 24 inch hood, you will need a 22 inch bulb:

Note: these are the quickest ones I could find. You can always look at different websites for better deals now that you know what to look for

Here is another option for fixture.. 24 inch fixture. You will need to buy a 5.0 or 6% T5 UVB bulb though. This one comes with the plant bulb so you just swap it out. Buying a second one for plants would be great as well.

You want 8-9 inches to the branch below with this and if baby is screen climbing the top then 5 inches to branch and the fixture has to be raised 4 inches off the top so that total distance to branch is 9 inches. But this way baby will not get exposed to extremely high UVI levels.

Would this be good for a second cage I’m getting ready to set up? It’s a smaller cage it’s a 18x18x36?

You do not want a smaller cage, a 4x2x2 is the minimum for an adult. You need a 24 inch uvb as well, the smaller the bulb, the less uvb being given off.

It’s just for a smaller baby cage until it gets to probably 6 months, I was thinking about getting a 24 and letting it hang off the side but I was just going to get the 14 until I get the bigger cage.

Honestly it's just more money that you dont need to spend. If it were me, I would put the baby in a 4x2x2 with a 24 inch fixture, no extra money spent.
