Hey guys, im happy to say my chameleon is showing great color now....ill post pictures...

im wondering why when he sees natural bark or a tree he likes to chomp and chew on it? is this okay

must be a panther chameleon.
The concern would be that it would bite off and ingest bits big enough to cause an impaction.

I would try to stop him from doing it when you see it happening. My 5 month old panther use to chew bark and he inhaled a piece and died.

I know chams aren't like dogs and you cant spank them or anything....but maybe operant conditioning would work on a cham.....i dunno though
