Basking Bulb Blew Up!

So i just finished setting up my cham cage, its runnin good now. so i switched out some bulbs and had a left over buld so i replaced the red buld in my collard lizard cage with this. Now a big difference between normal basking bulbs and the infrared bulbs is the glass thickness. so this is all set up and done so i just leave it be for a bit and than spray the chameleon and then start to spray the collards a bit for humidity. well im spraying and not paying to much attention when all of a sudden POP! the flippin basking bulb blew up. luckily no one was hurt but i think i am going to pay WAY more attention for now on.

That has got to suck. I had several lights blow on me but from our own fault. Walk by the Cham tanks and get the cord stuck on you, down goes the light and there goes the bulb. Always a mess.

Did your go POP because you got it wet?

yea it got wet and blew up. im surprised sam (male collard) didnt get hurt. he was like right under the light!!!

Thats lucky. it would have really been bad if he did get hurt. couldn't imagine the stress of that. I'm surprised none of my lights have blown while I mist my reptiles lol
