Basking Lamp

I’m getting my little chameleon tomorrow (very excited)! I have my enclosure all set up but I was wondering if I need to turn the basking lamp off at night with the UVB lamp? I’ve heard that if I can maintain the correct temperature in the room or doesn’t have to be on. Is this correct? (By the way, I have a thermostat for dimming and regulating the light)

As long as the room your chameleon is in doesn't drop below 60 at night your chameleon will actually benefit from a nighttime temperature drop.

Depending on the spices, I’ve heard even the low fifties are okay.

Also, you are able to get a CHE (ceramic heat emitter) to help with nighttime temps if they get extremely low. Just make sure you’re still keeping that temp drop
