Basking lamp

I was just wondering what basking lamp I should ask my mom to get, I live in Central texas and my house stays about 74 degrees through out the day. There is a 8.5 inch gap between the basking bulb and the branch.

I use an Arcadia 5.5” ceramic reflector clamp lamp with a 40 watt incandescent bulb to get 83 degrees at the branch. That’s 8” from the branch with 73 degree ambient. Some people go with a wider dome and higher wattage to spread out the heat across a wider area. Some tilt the heat dome to give a head gradient. There’s a lot you can do. I have different wattage bulbs for different seasons.
