Basking under the UV lamp..is it ok?

So my Finn has decided he wants to bask only under his UV lamp. When he first was in his setup, it was almost always under the basking lamp. It had a 60 watt incandescent bulb in it. He then moved away, and started sitting directly under the UV lamp. I thought that meant the basking bulb was too hot...I replaced it with a 40 watt...he is still just sitting under the UV lamp. If there wasn't a top on my cage, I think he would be wrapping himself around the actual bulb. There is not much heat under the UV fixture. Is it ok for him to just sit under the UV all day? Should I put the 60 watt back in?
thanks again! P.S. Finn is a veiled baby.

Check the temp of the basking spot to determine what watt bulb to use. As for the UV thing, wouldn't sweet it, 2 of mine do it. Of course I did set up Alpha perches directly in between the UV and the basking bulb, so that could be why they do it.:)

I can't see it doing anything... I personally have never had an issue with it.:)
