Baxter's got tongue action!!

No one around me here gets the excitement I am feeling, so I came to the only place that gets my feelings A quick sum up, I got Baxter on July 18th from Petco. I know that Petco is not great at all but I could not leave the blue beauty there. He was somewhat dehydrated so he got many showers and mistings the first week. He was in pretty good shape other than the slight dehydration, though I noticed right away he could not use his tongue. He would just creep right up to his prey and snatch it with his mouth. I started him on a varied diet with my schedule dusting like my other guys and today he extended his entire tongue I am so super excited, he shot towards the side of his prey and didn't exactly get it but it is such an improvement in over a month!!! Such a proud cham mom moment

So we did a minor photo shoot this morning, he is not as bright as usual he is going into shed!

I noticed in your photos the yellow on the "vines" that look like something chomped on them. I have that too. Any idea? Was wondering if it was crickets, and worried about it being passed on

@Karancon this is my only non-breeder guy. We have 3 others. All in all the Petco he came from wasn't as horrible as others, the enclosure was clean but still they didn't dust his food and his main food was mealworms. I have heard that crickets will chomp on the vines, they used to be better made but now are kinda cheap and the material just falls off or cracks when you bend it. I still like these ones better then the black Exo Terra vines as those shed black specks everywhere, and don't really look like branches imo. I usually flip the vines so the yellow is on the bottom. In my adult enclosures I just use regular old branches from outside, with just a couple of the fake vines!

Also I have noticed that even the chams claws can take chunks out of the vines as well

Thanks @CharlieCharmingo, it was a great moment! Now if he can just hit the item. Just curious if you have any ideas on it but do they usually gain full ability back, or is he always going to shot off? Thanks for any info. he is gaining weight fine and eating great so either way is fine just curious
