Bedtime

I know this has been posted about before, but.... I just have to say.... literally one of my favorite things each day is to watch Spyro “get ready for bed.” I think it’s the cutest thing!!! My boyfriend and I say “night night” to him when he settles in his spot. It makes me feel so cozy :)

Does yours have a favorite leaf too?

I got Thor as a hatchling and he had a favorite leaf for his first 2 months, but he got too heavy for it since it’s a real tree and had to pick a sturdier one now :ROFLMAO:

Sad for him, but it means he’s growing! :D

Awww!!

He likes to crawl behind the hanging plant I have in the top left corner. It’s funny, he’ll sit and look at it for like 20 min then we see him slowly descending behind it and can only see his little head!

I think it’s so adorable. Out of all the animals I’ve had, he’s the first and only to actually put himself to bed. Like I’ve never had a horse just put themselves in their stall or my dog go to bed or cat go to his room unless I tell them to lol.

Hey guys, so my cham just arrived this morning and I realized as it was time to turn off the lights this evening that I didn't really know how to signal to my new little guy to find a good spot to sleep before it got really dark. How do you guys do this, especially early on until they get used to their routine?

Thanks!

Mine just naturally finds his own spot. He’s slept in different spots since I first got him. Sometimes he tucks himself in before the lights go off, and sometimes after. I think they just figure out the routine once they get used to it.

Thanks! Especially it being day 1, if I get remotely close he almost immediately goes into his hiding spot so I guess he'll get used to it over time and we'll both get into a routine.

Week 1 in general was just super weird for me and mine. He came to me as an adult though, but his previous owners left his light on ALL night and day, and he didn’t have anything to climb on in his cage. Idk where or how he ever slept! So he definitely had to settle in to a whole new routine. With the new light schedule I have him on though, he’s definitely settled into his groove. I’m sure you & yours will be fine!!

Thanks, haha! I know the name of the game is avoiding stressing them out so I'm trying to do everything I can to avoid any unnecessary stress and whatnot. Adjustment periods are rough on us all :p
