Behavior while shedding.

My veiled is having his second shed (since I've had him). I should have written it down (his habits during his first shed) but he's eating a little less than normal. Is that part of the shedding process? Change in habits?

It can be. He make be a little irritated b/c I am sure it is a lot like when someone gets a sunburn. Itchy and irritating. I have a panther that actually scratches the shed off of parts he can reach and I have also noticed him eating/pulling shed skin off with his mouth...

They act annoyed for lack of a better word. They climb, rub, and brush at the shed. As would you or I if we shed all our skin head to toe. Mine do eat a bit less during the shed. I try to make sure I mist ( not directly on them ) a little more as it seems to help them remove the dry skin. My older boys actually let me hold them and gently rub to help.

shedding

Always know when a sheds about to start, Karmens food intake drops a little and she gets a little more attitude than normal

Awesome. Thanks 4 the input. He does seem to be traveling around the cage a bit more than usual. Cruising thru the leaves/vines is helping with the shedding. I'm gonna mist some more today.
I also wanted to clean out his cage, but maybe I should wait, so I don't stress him out any more for today.
