I have a very healthy female veiled chameleon who is about 2-3 years old. She has laid 3 clutches of eggs before (61, 57, 40) all infertile (no breeding). She is shedding right now and sometimes she doesn't eat quite as much when she sheds so I didn't think of much when she was hesitant/not overly eager to stick her tongue out to grab a cricket. I was a bit late in feeding her today so she already was on her way to her sleeping branch. I fed her two crickets but the third one she kept in her mouth for 60 seconds before it went down her throat. She other than her eyes wasn't moving or chewing or shaking. I'm not sure what it looks like when a chameleon chokes so.... I was wondering what the cause of this could be. She just took the cricket with her tongue and the head and antenna were sticking out of her mouth a bit so I could see that she hadn't swallowed it yet. Iggy gave me quite a fright and I'm not sure if it was a fluke or if she choked. It was a normal sized cricket and didn't even have any calcium dust on it that might have coated her tongue for a bit. Should I be worried?
This is a picture I took when she was just sitting there, sorry about the bad quality.
