No hornworms aren’t staples and showed only be feed 3 times a week. They are high in water and can dehydrate your Chamaeleon and cause diarrheaYou could try hornworms if you can get your hands on some. Reptile expos usually have them they are rather pricey though. I got some for my chams and they seem to like them. Plus it's a health alternative since they aren't as fatty and provide more protein than some other choices.
Yes. I know they aren't a staple, but mixed in with crickets, wax worms, and greens like they're doing would be a good variety, right? No hornworms aren’t staples and showed only be feed 3 times a week. They are high in water and can dehydrate your Chamaeleon and cause diarrhea

Also, if they are high in water, how could they get dehydrated? I thought they were a good treat for a dehydrated chameleon because they had so much water.
cause diarrhea
Aww that sucks. Buy her something she likes when you get your roaches so the pretty new thing distances her while you play with your bugsLooking forward to reading the responses. My wife also said no to roaches for me. So I'm going to do crickets, silk worms, super worms, and blsf. Roaches will be hidden and used sparringly until I can get her to agree to them
Your a savage!!!!I brought a colony of roaches into the house the other day:
Husband: what's that?
Me: bugs
Husband: what kind?
(Why is he asking me this?! Usually he just rolls his eyes at me when I bring in bugs)
Me: dubia
Husband: what a dubia?
(seriously?! He usually has zero interest in my bugs)
Me: dubia are insects
(see how I didn't say roaches?)
Husband accepts vague answer, loses interest, resumes TV watching as I duck downstairs to my bug room. Lol
Omg you just said all 3 of them stuff I need to sneak in as well!! You can never have to many bugs or yarn lolYou definitely win!
My husband and I have a deal: I sneak in reptiles, bugs, and yarn (I'm a knitter). He sneaks tools into the garage. We both usually pretend we don't know what the other is doing.
SO TRUE!Omg you just said all 3 of them stuff I need to sneak in as well!! You can never have to many bugs or yarn lol
I crochet and knit.SO TRUE!
do you knit?
Definitely no such thing as too much yarn; I have a large stash. The other day my kid asked me if I had any yarn he could use for something. Stupid question so I said "no, I don't think I have any yarn." and the look on my husband's face was priceless, he was incredulous, thinking I was actually serious. I laughed and laughed.
Diarrhea = dehydration, Chameleons convert all water intake into Uric acid so if the urate is runny it’s wasted water.Yes. I know they aren't a staple, but mixed in with crickets, wax worms, and greens like they're doing would be a good variety, right?

My his was moving my yarn bags/boxes the other day and said “wow I don’t think you have enough yarn” I gave him the look that said “ don’t challenge me boy. Hobby lobby is just down the street and I need chameleon supplies anyways lol”
Where are you getting this from?Diarrhea = dehydration, Chameleons convert all water intake into Uric acid so if the urate is runny it’s wasted water.
You need to find a little chameleon knit pattern! You definitely win!

Once she gives the crickets a smell she may be more open to the roaches lol.Looking forward to reading the responses. My wife also said no to roaches for me.
