best staple diet for veiled cham

Hey everyone I'm new to the Cham world and we just got our first veiled. He's eating 6-8 large crickets a day. He has eaten a couple of mealworms and today we got some wax worms he ate one. From what we've read crickets are 50% of their diet, just trying to figure the rest out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

It is best to try and stay away from staple feeders and use at least 5 different feeders for variety. Try not to let any one feeder make up more than 20-30% of the diet. Using a certain type of feeder too much can make them go on hunger strikes and some worms can make them become "addicted" where they will refuse anything else but those worms. These include superworms, mealworms, and waxworms. They can be used as part of a varied diet, but mealworms and wax worms should be treats while supers can be used a little more often, but still not too much.

Thanks for the advice. Before we got him he'd only eat crickets but I guess that's what happens when you get one from a pet store. I'm ordering some silkworms Monday. I'll check out the link you sent as well. Thanks again

a varied diet is the best diet as long as you keep in mind what is easily digested and always gutload your feeders properly!
