I can easily get to VT as well. I’m willing to travel to have him be healthy. But yes, Albany would be fineSo you would need a vet near Albany? Correct?
You probably want a new one because the uv output gets weaker as they age.ThNk you so much! I will make the changes. The bulb is Acadia
It’s only about 4 months oldYou probably want a new one because the uv output gets weaker as they age.
For you to learn the correct husbandry you will want to read through this entire program. https://chameleonacademy.com/chameleon-husbandry-program-getting-started-with-chameleons/Thank you for your advice. I was fogging because he seemed dehydrated. I will stop. The bulb is a T5. I will change the direction. no plastic cover on the fixture . I do not know the brand because the previous owner sent it along. All I know is it’s a reptile vitamin. I will stop heating at night, too. I was just worried because he was so sick. He barely moved this morning, but he’s perked up a bit now. I really appreciate your time
Thank you for the link. I will read it all. The D3 and vitamins came in tiny tupperware containers from the original owner. I bought Flukers DFor you to learn the correct husbandry you will want to read through this entire program. https://chameleonacademy.com/chameleon-husbandry-program-getting-started-with-chameleons/
Basking temp you want low 80's.
Are all the supplements not in their original containers?
Ugggg. Ok so this for me is a major RED flag... You need new and toss the ones in tupperware... So you bought the flukers plain calicium no D3 right? If so you want to buy this Reptivite with D3. this is your multivitamin and your calcium with D3. You would only use it 2 times a month. So every other week at one feeding. Or 1st and the 15th for easy remembering.Thank you for the link. I will read it all. The D3 and vitamins came in tiny tupperware containers from the original owner. I bought Flukers D

i contacted my daughter, since she helped rescue this chameleon. She said the supplements were hers, not the kids and she sent them along so mine would ha e what he needed. One is Zoo med, the other Flukers. The plain D I have is Flukers. My daughter has two very well cared for bearded dragons, which is why she had supplements.Ugggg. Note my worry about this is you have no way to know exactly what supplements are in there or what your really giving. Not all supplements are created the same.

Ok well so you know about what your using. The Flukers vitamins do have preformed A in them so that is good. I do not use these ones but I have not heard anything bad about them either. So as long as that is what they really are and they are in a cool dry place they should be fine. Keep in mind supplements do expire. So you would want to find out what the expiration was on the bottle so that you can replace them when you need to.Thank you for the link. I will read it all. Exactly what I was thinking. Looks like he has an underbite too...which I would also link to possible MBD.He does not look thin to me at all. I am iffy on his limbs though they are not quite straight so their could be some MBD issues.

Personally I worry about force feeding for long periods of time. The food that is given has its own vitamins in it as well. It is very normal for them to go off food if they are stressed and dealing with a total change to their environment. If it were my cham I would stop force feeding. Get a feeder run like the full throttle feeder 3 inch feeder cup. And start putting feeders in. More then likely he is used to eating crickets. If you were trying other feeders they can be stubborn and not take something new for a week or two easily. Here is the link to them https://www.fullthrottlefeeders.com/feedercups

Get a better UVB light that runs the length of the cage... This is a good one. And it comes with a daylight bulb. I would buy two fixtures. One to use for the daylight bulb for plants and the other replace the bulb with a 6% uvb. Get the 36 inch fixtures and the 34 inch UVB bulb so they run the entire length of the cage. Here are the links.

I will check more on the calcium md vitamins. I ha e been dusting the bugs all along, but perhaps the products aren’t the best. You ha e all been so kind and helpful.Exactly what I was thinking. Looks like he has an underbite too...which I would also link to possible MBD.
Question since your dusting bugs has he been eating them? If so you do not want to be force feeding.I will check more on the calcium md vitamins. I ha e been dusting the bugs all along, but perhaps the products aren’t the best. You ha e all been so kind and helpful.
I dust his bugs at every meal, but no, he hasn’t eaten a bug in About 5 weeks. I have added tiny amounts of calcium to his force feedings. I, wondering if I should just let him be for a day or two and try feeding bugs again after a little time alone.Question since your dusting bugs has he been eating them? UVB lighting being spot on will be the best to help stop MBD from progressing.
We are happy to help. Just want to make sure you have the correct info to get the right stuff.
I would get the UVB lighting I linked for you above. Without the correct UVB levels at basking this will reduce appetite. And I would stop force feeding and get crickets if you do not have them already. See if he will start eating as he should. He can easily go a week or more without eating and be fine. He should only eat 3 feeders 3 days a week anyways.I dust his bugs at every meal, but no, he hasn’t eaten a bug in About 5 weeks. I have added tiny amounts of calcium to his force feedings.
