Big Thanks to Cham Forums

Ever since I received my first chameleon (just short of a year ago, so not even that long really ) there has always been at least ONE person on CF willing to give me advice and assure me that though taking care of these guys is a challenge, it's easy with effort.

You guys, I just wanted to thank each and every one of you especially since I acquired the little jacksons, Brave Heart.

Everyone here gives their best tricks and tips, words of encouragement, and other things, and it makes it SO much easier to care for my beloved pets.

I love this forum so much. This is just an overflowing fountain of members with years of experience, not to mention tragedies and joys.

It's great to have people like the members here to help out.

It is so great to have a place COMPLETELY SPECIALIZED just for chameleons! Other places (other reptile forums) I find a HUGE lack of chameleon info rather than more "easy" and "cool" reptiles like tegus, beardies, water dragons, etc. Every reptile is as awesome as the last, but these little chams always find a way to wiggle their little tails in and capture our hearts, don't they?!

Just thank you, everyone for being there. Especially experienced keepers who have given me cham lifesaving advice and support.

I am just so emotional since Brave Heart.. To think that I could have chosen to leave such a beautiful creature there who turned out to be such a sweet little guy. Instead he gets a great life in captivity.. rather than a tiny, dirty, cricket keeper.

Just thank you to everyone. Members new and old, senior or junior, mods and admins, biologists and vets, kids, teens, and adults, just everyone here.

Thank you. For giving advice when no one else would to MANY (hundreds) of cham keepers and helping make these animals (and keepers) lives better.

You are an excellent example of why a lot of us take time to share what we know, and are happy to help. Thanks for the kind world.

It just seems like people never get enough credit around here.

Seriously a HUGE thanks to everyone on here!

No problem Laurie

So I Have to say I am grateful to all the senior members that give us newbies your time. Thanks us for teaching and helping us to do the best we can for our new family members. :D

Its important here too, you mentioned "family".

I go other places and see chams mentioned ONLY as part of a "reptile collection".

Here I think a lot of people put emphasis on the fact that just because they are a reptile doesn't mean they cannot be family

Same here, I also got my first cham around a year ago, Christmas time of last year, and had been coming to these forums for information. I only recently made an account, and so far everyone has been wonderful.

And it's so important that we do provide the information for new members, as well as the kindness.. Otherwise people would leave.

I think this is absolutely 100% the best place to get cham info, period.

here here :d

Speaking of what we are talking about..

I always go on facebook herp groups and find that people have no compassion for any reptiles. Reptiles are just part of a collection (like I said before) and people say "I can just buy a new one when it dies". They put emphasis on the "morphs" (i don't like the word morph really because it puts emphasis on "I bought this mostly just for its color") and the fact that they have a cham in the first place.

And people botch caresheet advice and say "Oh you can keep chams with small gravel mixed w/moss and coconut fiber, also put a waterfall but only clean it like once a week cause its too much work" or "yeah u only need d3 like once a year, just take them outside once a month theyll be fine" or even worse.

Here, we have experts.

I do not want to sound like I'm ragging on another site or group, but really, this IS the best place. People care about the chams and owners health/feeling/whatever and take sweet time out of their day

I totally agree. I don't know if I could have done this without all of the free info here. I have always wanted to adopt a chameleon and after months of trolling all the wise individuals here, I found the courage to add my chameleon to my family. I am now totally in love with her. I am now adding a new male to make the family bigger!

That's just the start of the addiction, as everyone here says.. Ay ay ay. I never thought I'd have more than Monty, but now I have Brave and you never know when I might get another.

I'm so grateful to you all as well. I read the forums for a couple of months before I got my jackson's. To be honest, I read up on chameleons in the hope that it would put me off getting one, but instead i learned so much!
I still have a lot to learn,,and I've only had Piko a few months, but I know that I can always turn to you guys if I'm confused about something, whether it be food, health issues, environmental stuff, whatever. I know you are always there to advise.
So, thanks from me too!

As a newbie, I have gotten so much valuable information on here. I'll go to various sites with care sheets and they are terribly off.

Just like when I first got into orchids, and trying new species and I'd end up killing them by following the directions from the store. Joining a orchid forum helped me so much that I now have over 40 orchids.

Let's hope I get the same way with chams ;)

Oh you will, like I said before (and tons of others before me) it IS an addiction... hahahaha.

It starts with only one cham then multiplies.

I agree wholeheartedly that this forum has been so wonderful for a newbie like me. I'm sure my chams appreciate it as well and would say so if they could.
