Hey guys, I just have a quick question about my male, veiled (3 months old) chameleon's color. Most of today he has been a drab black/brown all over.
I am guessing that it is because I had to clean out his cage yesterday because his food got everywhere and was crawling away. So, naturally, he freaked out because there's a giant hand that's in his cage and moving the plant that he's on around (yes, I've attempted to take him out of the cage. Not an option.). Also, every time I clean his cage I try to put everything back to where it originally was, but it always looks a little different.
I've seen how he looks during bathing, and this isn't the same. And he normally doesn't seem sooooo freaked out after cleaning the cage. Every time I came into mist him, he looks like he's trying to do something with his vine under his basking light. I moved that vine a little closer to the light, because it was further away than before.
So, is it just because I cleaned his cage? Or could it be something else? Nothing else has changed, no temp or humidity change, food, change of surroundings outside the cage, etc. If you want to see that health list thing, it's in another post of mine. Also, if you have any cage cleaning tips you can add them in. Thank you!
