Black currants

Is it OK for veiled chams to eat black currants once in a while? I have black/red currants and raspberries and alpine strawberries growing in my garden. I know too much fruit is not a good idea but can they have a little bit now and then....not too sure of the nutritional content of the currants? All my chams enjoy their greens and not just crickets/locusts etc.

I dunno, isn't it too sour for them?
I have no experience with this fruit but all the recommended fruits are always sweet, aren't they?

Black currants are very nutritious. The only problec is they have a very high acid content, along with the strawberries, and might cause diarrhea. You can certainly give them to your crickets though. I have tons of experience with various fruits as I am a commercial winemaker. Hope this helps

Hey thanks very much. I am sure that the crickets will enjoy the occassional feed up on them. It seemed a shame not to take advantage of the fresh oganic fruit for my cham ^__^ I dont really want to give my cham the runs tee hee but feeding the critters with them instead is a great idea
