Black spots

My approximately 4 month old veiled chameleon has some black spots on his face. I cup feed him so I don't think it's bites from feeders. Is this just the way his face looks? He eats and drinks and poops, etc fine. Not lethargic, doesn't sleep during the day. His basking spot temp olds around 85 and the rest of the cage stays around 75 during the day and 68 at night when we sleep. I was just curious what you guys think. the pic I have isnt great but he kind of hates me and tries to bite my hand off whenever I put it in his cage. Thanks!

Here's a better pic. I did read that they can be burned by the uv light so I moved it About 2 weeks ago so that he can't get so close to it. Is that what this isnor is his head just grey?

I am very sorry but i can't tell anything from your photos. He may be getting a gray tint all over as he is getting ready to shed. That is a guess as I really couldn't see much.

He just shed about 3 weeks ago. It's just the top of his head between his eyes And up the front of his veil is grey. And he has some black spots around his eyes and on the side of his neck. All of the other pics I've seen of chameleons show them green all over, no grey. I just wanted to make sure he is ok

try getting a picture from inside the cage so we can better see what you are trying to describe, do you know if he was up super close to his basking lamp? If so he may have gotten a burn on his casque, if your really very worried, id say call your local exotic reptile vet and describe what your seeing to them and see if they think you should come in or not

The spot on top of his casque is one to worry about. the others are normal.

Your basking spot is more than likely 1. to close to the bulb (too hot) or 2. incorrect bulb (spot lamp + too hot).

Ok thanks! I took that picture today. I got him from petco in april so i don't really know how old he was when I got him. Thanks again for the help!
