Blackish skin?

Ok, I just noticed that my cham has what looks like little black speckles on the skin at the base of his tail. The only photos I could get were seriously TERRIBLE becasuse he kept walking and I didn't think to turn on a light. I'll try to get more as soon as I can get him to crawl back out. I know no one can probably tell from these, but any ideas at all?

Oooh... no it couldn't be a burn but it could easily be a bruise. He fell off the top of his enclosure on Saturday, and hit his side. I put up a post about that too! I'll get some more clear photos ASAP.

Could be a fungus. Hopefully not.

Hi Kat,

I would say a bruise . I have seen ends of Chameleons tail looking like that after a fall. I think Steve must have bumped that spot when he fell

i opened my girl chams mouth up like the vet showed me, by gently pulling down on the tip of the flap and keeping another finger on her rostrum. She opened it up pretty willingly, but afterwards it was black where my fingers had punched the skin. She also gets those same marks in the area she got stuck after she gets injections. Shes a delicate one i guess Its nothing to worry about.

I would say a bruise...my get that when they grab themselves or something of that sort...It will go away soon...by the way calypso my pink is lookin good...

HAHAHAHA.That is one big bulge. You should be proud of the little fellow its bigger than my 1 1/2 year olds hahaa or at least looks like it.

Yay! relieved once again. I'm so glad that it is a bruise and not, like Chuck said it could be, a fungus, because that is the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the black. So we have 100% bruise and 0% fungus. Good.

And I know! That bulge is big, baby!
