Blanche is about to lay her first clutch!

This girl has been digging on and off in her lay bin for the past day and a half. She has currently been digging for the past couple hours straight so I'm guessing she is close. Holy stress. I tip-toed in so I could get a peek, I do have a camera set up to keep an eye on her throughout the day, but where she is digging her hole is partially blocked by a dowel.

Fertile or infertile?
Please update us with more! I would love to hear how this goes for her! Must be very exciting/stressful!
Keeping you and Blanche in my thoughts! Hope everything goes smoothly. ;)

Definitely don't let her see you watching her when she's digging.

Here's host should go...she will choose a hole and dig it until she's satisfied. Then she will turn around butt down usually in the evening and lay her eggs and fill the hole in and tamp the area down and return to the trees thin and hungry and thirsty.

If she doesn't do this and becomes lethargic, sits low in the cage or sleeps during the day let us know.

Good luck!

I made sure she didn't see me! I only went in there to snap a pic because I could see her head was way in her hole on my camera. About 15 minutes ago she turned around and wiggled her butt down in the hole. I do have a question! So, as long as all goes well she should be done laying her eggs sometime tonight? And after she is done is it ok to wait until morning to feed and take care of her, or should I be watching for when she is done with the whole process to make sure she gets what she needs then?

Some of them lay fast and others take a while. It will also depend on the clutch size to some extent. She may stay in the hole all night...you can leave the lights in the regular schedule or leave them on longer. Either way is fine. Feeding her in the morning is fine too.

After all is done for sure and she's been back up in the tree for a while you can remove the bin and dig the dig the eggs up to count them. This just tells you if you're over feeding her or not and you can look at the eggs too to see if they look "healthy".

Fingers crossed that it's fast so you can stop worrying! :)

Aaand I think she is done... She just turned around and I think she's burying them now. So like 45ish minutes to lay the eggs.

Poor girl has been at it basically all night with little breaks in between. I think she is almost done burying though.

She's doing great! I pulled her bin out yesterday, just didn't get a chance yet to dig them up.

Yes, that is a wifi cam. The brand is kasa, I got it at best buy for like $60ish. It works great!
