Bloated stomach and neck area?

Hi

Hi I was wondering if he is still swelling up? I have a tamatave that does that if I feed him a lot of protein I have to separate his feeders and feed them a lot of fruit and no protein and hornworms will help and lots of water! I hope this helps

Hi Randy,

No the swelling has gone down. It could be due to the fact that he will only eat crickets. I have tried feeding him mealworms, wax worms and multiple types of fruits and veggies. He just cocks his head with slight curiosity at the other food types and then moves on. He still has not pooed though and it has been almost 2 weeks now! Ugh!

Not to be rude here but you have given three different time spans that your chameleon has not pooped. At first you said several days, then a week and a half and now you say three weeks. If it has been three weeks, I would be taking him to a vet to get x rays and see if there is possibly something impacting your chameleon.

Hi Carol,

Since you are so talented at thoroughly reading my posts I am quite disappointed that you have managed to missed the one I posted yesterday about how I have already made a vet appointment. The amount of time aloted since his last defecation is simply an estimate on my part. I sincerely appreciate your repetitive feedback though!

well thank you for the compliment(lol) and I am sorry that I overlooked the important fact that you are going to see a vet. As far as the estimate, I am sure will agree that several days and several weeks are quite far apart. I am just basing my opinion on the information you have provided. No hard feelings, and bottom line is you are getting your cham in to see a vet and that is what is most important. So good luck to you and I hope everything turns out ok.

Good news

James pooed today! I put him in the sun on his live plant for about 30 minutes and as soon as i put him back in his cage he released massive amounts! Thanks to everyone for the advice and to those people out there with a similar issue i tried mineral oil, baby pears, warm shower and warm bath and none of these worked. It may have been the heat and the stressed combined but the sun worked its magic and his swollen belly and neck are entirely gone:)

Do you thin

do you think the straight calcium helped? Mine is having the same problem now. He is a baby Panther and is experiencing the same thing. I was under supplementing him. Just got a liquid calcium today with no phosphorus or d3
