i was just wondering if there was any way to figure out the bloodline of my cham. i called the pet store and asked them but they would not give me any information that i asked (about the breeder/wholesaler ect..). it doesn't seem like there is any other way but just wanted to see what everyone had to say

By "bloodline" I'm assuming that you don't mean "geographic locals"
but you're asking about parentage from a certain individual... correct?

Petstores usually buy their animals off a sales sheet faxed or e-mailed to them by animal brokers
or buy directly "walkins" that dump their home bred animals for pocket change.
Brokers acquire their animals via several means
(Wild caught, pet mill, and "walking dumping")
When such animals are gathered for sale they are all placed into large bins or enclosures,
sorted by species (not by source) and warehoused until sale by the brokers
or local distributors that transport them along a local route to make the sales.

There isn't any bloodline data... (quality costs money)
Any "bloodlines" developed by bulk breeders are NOT based
on looks personality & other factors for the animal.
They establish their lines for large amounts of offspring, rapid turnover before appearances.
Petstores DO NOT care about quality bloodlines that cost extra cash
because the customers don't demand it.
They buy animals for the lowest price possible and sell animals for greatest profit
to a public that usually doesn't even know enough to properly care for
exotics. They just want (name) and want to buy it cheap.
Check the images from a petstore purchased animal and one from a established breeder -big difference.
If you wanted to know such information or have a quality animal you needed to buy DIRECTLY
from the breeder with a solid reputation, good quality lines and pay the asking price.
That way you know what you're getting and outshine any petstore bought animal.
bests!
