Bloody baby Quad

You are joking right? Yes we all know about how surgeons use leeches to prevent clotting and bugs are beneficial etc etc but if your chameleon has a maggot chewing on him this would be a very bad thing. I mean what the heck is this cham just bleeding from? The title is "Bloody baby quad". What a weird thread.
You mean you dont use maggots to eat away an infected/dirty wound?? That just weird man......:p:rolleyes:

maggots do eat dead tissue and what not but the other bacteria and infection they can bring with them far outweights the bennifits of thier use.

Is this a serious agreement?

I don't see why people think all maggots are nasty.
Yup....Ive read up on it some years ago......nothing wrong with it when the other option is that your gonna lose a limb and/or get a serious infection throughout your body.......
It was done before antibiotics were available........and still done in areas where they dont have access to them......

Beyond the use of maggots professionally. I have seen a maggot infested wound on a living animal from a random wild fly. Let me tell you it was NOT infection free and im sure caused death at some point.

Certain flies do that. Particularly on dog ears. I can't remember which fly at the moment.

I just want both of you to know you can agree all day, and I can disagree all day. A chameleon is minature compared to a human. Never can I see a reason to let any bug, paraite, what ever chew on one of my chams. I hope mike doesn't do it as I think it would be a death sentense for that tiny chams. jmo

Its the way they look. I can know the facts all day long, but seeing a bunch of squirming maggots on a carcass is just about sickening. I can do blood, guts and all that. Maggots, not so much. It just sounded funny, clean maggots lol
