if anyone can offer any advice i will be very gratful....dont think she is goin to make it........she has recently been spade.... she is slightly dehydrated and up untill now has been eating like a horse but not putting back on any weight! at the mo her eyes are closed grip weak. her head and tail are emaciated but up till today she has been active alert etc

Take her to a Vet, she sounds very poorly a vet will be able to disgnose what is wrong with her or advice treatment!!!

Only just saw other post. I am unsure of what to advise besides getting her to a vet, as she sounds quiet poorly. May some more experienced members can help you!! Keep trying to get her to a vet its your best bet!

no and i dont think she wud servive the long journy anyway.... im not afraid to go to the vet i mean iv jut paid 400 for her to be spade.... what is best...keep her warm, dark, light what.....is it ogan failure of some kind, heart attack... from what ive found on the site here her syptoms mean shes not got long.....i dont get why she looks bloated both her body and neck are blown up..... guess ill keep her warm and dark. not putting her in her viv cos her grip is rubish and she keeps closing eyes...think she might fall in her viv.

Yes try maybe to keep her warm, possible give her a bath so she doesn't get dehydrated. I really hope she pulls through for you!!! Keep us posted!!!

Can you get her an emergency appointment at the vets? If not, is there a vet nearer to you? If you do take her - put her in a carboard box lined with a towel. She will most likely sleep in the dark box on the way. For now, though, keep her warm and try and offer her some water - drip warm water onto the end of her nose so it runs over her mouth - she may lick it off. When did she have surgery? Was she poorly before it? She may have complications from her op.

Yes she had surgery about a week agaon now. She was egg bound. Had layed half the eggs normally but then dropped one or two and kept going back down to dig again. She had an infection where her eggs are made which had made them a bit sticky which is why she could not pass them. She was getting dehydrated and her face went gaunt looking over a day or two. The gaunt look is still there despite her eating well and drinking. Thought she might have made it up till today. She ate some crickets and a locust this morning. When I checked on her an hour or so ago I saw that she was all blown up! I checked her over...grip weak and she was gasping....going worse all the time. Shes not in her viv now, she is in a box. Im keeping her warm but think she is giving up!!!!! eyes closed.

I can give it a go but doubt they will tell me much on the phone.....No more news she is just sitting there eyes closed giving the occassional gasp....Could it be a heart attack or something? Or kindey failure??? Might that explain the bloating?

Sad. Calling the vets and asking for some verbal help takes you like 5 minutes. Seeing how they just gave your guy surgery a week ago, I am kind of confused why you haven't called earlier.

well just to let eveyone know, Tilly went for her stiches out today (after being spade) and she has got a full bill of health ^__^ Nobody knows what caused the sudden episode of swelling and gasping for air but we suggested maybe anaphalactic shock and the vet said well yes that may have been what it was...Very scary indeed!!! For the benefit of the member who obviously thought I was a bad cham owner.... I had tried to contact the vet. I was waiting for them to call me back. It was a very sudden attack and I posted the help messege here within minutes in the hope that I might get some instant helpfull feedback. Till slowly recovered over a few days and is now fighting fit again WHOOOPEEEEEE! :D

Has anyone else ever had a chameleon who suffered anaphalactic shock???

That's good news that she is getting over her sickness,i can guess it was pretty scary for you to witness that!glad she is feeling better:)

Aww! I am so glad you had a happy ending. It's such an awful feeling when they are poorly and you can't help them. Glad she's feeling better - you must be so relieved!:D I didn't know that they can get anaphylactic shock - maybe she reacted to the anaesthetic or something else that they gave her. I guess you'll never know what caused it though. Now you can enjoy her without the worry of eggies!

Yes thank you for all your good wishes. I am sat here now just watching her basking. Chams are beautiful creatures!
