it can mean she is gravid. Do you have a laying bin in your cage for her? HAs she ever laid eggs?. She looks like she is pregnant, kinda lumpy. She does not have to have been mated to lay eggs.

yeah i have a good size laying bin down for her, yeah she is fat and not holding her own weight to good with in the last few weeks, shes stopped eating mush these past few weeks to. hope she poops these eggs out soon, its her first time shes 6month old, how long does it take about till she lays her eggs?

I know when they mate it takes about three weeks to a month to lay from what I have read. If she was not bred, then I am not sure!! Have you seen her attempting to dig? Are you sure you have the correct materials and amount of correct depth for her to lay? She needs privacy. Have you tried covering the cage up to get her to lay? You said she is not holding her weight good, you mean she is gaining weight?

blue dots does not necessarily mean gravid. it can, and usually just means sexual maturity. you will most likely start seeing orange in a month

i'll try covering up the cage tomorro before i go to work. that may work thanks, no she seems sluggish moving around the branches like her body weight is to heavy for her legs. i havent mated her with a male. shes been brill for 6months i think its just egg laying, everything is set up, av read up alot about them before i got her, av made my own cage which is a good size for her to move around Photo0265.jpg this is her at 3weeks old.

I would say that she looks more receptive as compared to gravid. Just my opinion.

seeing her in that cage, she looks so tiny! you are probably right and yes, blue goes not always mean gravid but receptive. :) Edit: she is tiny cause he said she is three weeks old! Dah! Maybe post some more pics of her from different angles.

What is that big plastic thing in the bottom of the cage?

i was just showing you the cage she is 6months old now i took the picture of the blues dots yesterday, and the box is for food and its half way up the cage not at the bottom, its gone now she dont need it.

Blue dots on female veileds usually means receptive, but not always. She may be gravid. Sometimes they hide the gravid colors but others may appear like the blue spots. I didnt read all the posts so Im not sure if you have introduced her to a male. Start weighing her and comparing weight changes. If she starts increasing in weight quick you know shes gravid. At 6months of age, she may lay infertiles so always have a laying bin ready. Veileds dont reabsorb eggs so if theres any thought that she may be carrying eggs, put the bin in. Death usually follows a veiled who loses its chances of laying. Goodluck!

her body seems to heavy for her legs though and she not walking/climbing very well, she aint been to her laying bin once yet

Yeah sure, this is not her laying bin by the way. see her back legs she cant stand right under her weight.

i agree with dupont. i did not read the earlier posts, but how is her calcium intake? and push on her snout gently with one finger, see if one of her jaws bends - that indicates whether she is lacking calcium or not. i would think if she can not hold her self it would be a beginning stage of mbd
