Blue Jackson!

So i have an opportunity to get a blue jackson. I was curious as to how rare and how much they usually sale for? I seen some pictures they look pretty stunning. feedback muchly apprectiated thanks.

they want to trade for panther! not mine of coarse but i got a friend that just had a clutch and i could get one off him for a reasonable price so im wandering what the blue are worth

I have NEVER heard of a blue xanth. Make sure you get photos way before you give anyone any money, it sounds like a scam to me. Or they're selling you Mt. Meru Jackson's instead and saying it's a blue xanth, which would also make it a scam.

Again, I have never heard of this before so I wouldn't know what someone would charge for one. But trading (or paying) the $200-250 a panther is worth for a xanth is steep. I did a Google search and didn't get a single hit for a blue Jackson's. So it sounds like a scam to me.

It could just have a stripe of blue, but not totally blue. There are also photo editing sistems, so consider that always on google images :p

after further discussion with the anonymous emailer ive determined either he dont know what he is talking about or doesnt know what he has. Claims he has been breeding six years, but thinks ambilobes sell for 140 bucks. says its not mt kenyan but all the pictures ive seen of this mysterious blue xanth is mount kenyan he was real quick to try and make deal but wouldnt offer up any pictures and says he uses glasss aquariums instead of screen or mesh cause he gets better moister. i have a female jackson i know they require higher humidity but mine is in a screen diy 18 x 18 x 36 and i keep her at a 60-70 humidity range. and there is various things u can buy to maintain good humidity. so my guess he is a false trying to screw me outta a panther for a jackson which dont get me wrong i love all species but im not dumb lol

Jackson's can have some "bluish" coloring. Here are some pictures where you can see bluish coloring on the tail, parts of the back and under the chin.

 Your male Jackson is absolutely stunning! Is he a Xanth (please forgive my ignorance, but I have trouble telling the subspecies apart still!) My friend has held back a female from Monty's clutch as she is quite red - she has named her Rosy!:D

Yeah, they are Xantholophus. The third picture is a different male than the other pictures. The "Red" male turned out to be a " Blue" Jackson. ;)

My Xanth also had a bit of blue blush here and there, especially around the head so his head was more teal. But to shell out $200-250 for a Jackson's, it better really be as blue as a Nosy be! It just sounds like he was trying to scam you, especially if they won't provide photos. That's a big red flag right there. I don't think him saying anything about glass enclosures is a bad sign of his husbandry, hundreds of thousands of people use glass very successfully, but just the fact that he's trying to sell something without photos is very sketchy.

I'm glad you're walking away from this sale!
