The housing I built for my Bradys I have coming this week. :) These have been through tons of trial and error up to this point, and are very, very close to being finished. A few more plants/sticks will be added tomorrow and it should be all good! They were originally supposed to be stacked using the metal shelving unit, but due to some design changes mid way, they have to be free standing. Sliding glass doors were part of the plan at first, but due to ventilation issues were switched to hinged screen doors(Thanks Hoj!).
Deepblue dual 46" t5HO fixtures sit atop both caging units, each fitted with a 6500k and Arcadia 6% bulbs. UV readings are anywhere from 12-80 through the entire cages. Had i known those were going to be my readings, I would have gone with the 12% bulb, elevated it then lowered it over time.
Each cage has a MK nozzle and a 4" fan set to go off periodically throughout the day to dry out and ventilate each cage.
Plants used were, Yellow rocket, pothos, natural grasses, and irish moss(which i dont expect to live but im giving it a shot!), and whatever else i pick up tomorrow.
Opinions and criticism welcome!
Enjoy!!! :)

Fine, I was going to post pictures of mine, but they look like dirt next to yours. Maybe I will forget to do that post.:( But I have to say yours are killer, how big is each cage?

No no, post pictures Laurie! Ive seen yours, and they look great! But i believe people should see, and understand how were going to be keeping these :)

Each cage is 24x24x24, if i had known I wasnt going to stack them, I would have gone 36" high. But it was just too late in the build to start over. These may be only temporary if i come to find air circulation is not enough to my liking, in that case theyll get 24x24x36" screen cages

Those look awesome! Mine are also going to be so simple in comparison! lol You make us so jealous.

Lol thank you Olimpia. Well the only reason these are slightly complex is the lack of screen sides lol. Screen cages are truly the way to go with these guys!

Bob, guess what your going to do when you come down here?? Thats right..i will have a pile of wood waiting on you. ;)

Very nice set ups. Im unfamiliar with the brady bunch. Judging by your set up and pictures i have seen of them here and there..I take it they spend most of the time low bush/thicket?

They look awesome!! Exactly what I pictured when I saw them the first time. Really very nice.!! Great Job
Thx for the kudos ;)

First and foremost, the cages look great Alex!

From what Ive read in different books and talking to Chris Anderson while he studied them in S.A., they do not only spend time in bushes/thicket, they also will climb high into the canopy when given the chance i.e. if the forest or habitat where they come from hasnt been altered and there are still tall trees to climb. He told me that with his 25' pole for catching specimens of B. thamnobates to study, he sometimes had a hard time reaching all the way to them and some were even out of reach!

Really nice setup. You got the coolest out of all three species too, I think:D Transvaalense and pumilum might have the flashier colors but something about that warty/tons of raised scales the thamnobates have really makes me like them much more. I am a sucker for the more odd looking chams though;)

LOL. If I had that kinda time id have no problem building you some!
And yes, For the most part they are found in lower areas but can be found much higher up.
Nice man I like that set up a lot:cool:
Thanks man, it still doesnt top that bad a** baby cage set up you got! But dont you worry, ill have one soon enough!;)

Thanks Jared :) I agree, At first I really wanted some transvaals but i think that was due to the fact we always see Pauls. But after researching and looking at pics hours on end, I fell for the thamnos, i cannot wait to see them in person!
One day I hope to work with them all, but its just not possible right now. Just need to hope for the best with everyones groups.
And thank you for the hook up man, couldnt of done it without ya!

One thing i forgot to add... The cages on the left appear shorter/smaller but they are actually the same size, the doors are just smaller because of a bad cut. That affected how they "sit" in the shelving units, making it slightly lower than the other.
That being said... Measure TWICE, cut ONCE!!!! :D

Is this how all of y'all are keeping the Bradypodion, in terms of the cage set up. A cage with only two sides screen? Benefits would be humidity keeping capabilities?

-Chase

Awesome cages, and on a side note I'd like to say a big thanks to all of you working with these imports. I look forward to lots of pictures of their growth and acclimation, and then Babies!!! Best of luck to you all! :D
