Ok, 5 month old panther Cham, maybe had him 5 days. He is sleeping with his mouth open.

It's got me totally freaked out and I'm super worried

And before you ask, the cage is a temporary hardware cloth set up until his new cage arrives, which will be shortly.

There's no sound when he is breathing? I've never seen one sleeping with its mouth open before. How is the temperature in the cage? It could maybe be too hot at night?

Where do you guys measure temperature? I have three probe thermometers, two of which are very very accurate. Two of those stick on thermometers, and an infrared laser thermometer. (Overkill much?) oh yeah, plus another digital read out home thermometer that is part f the hygrometer.

When my branch/perch temp is 78, his back can get upwards of 85 and sometimes to 90. Which one is supposed to be 78?

When I mist everything plunges down to 61-63, even though I use warm water it's evaporative cooling.

Ambient room temps are at 70, and humidity ranges 45% - 65%, but usually closer to the 45 end. Wood stove. Dry house in winter.

Yep I called him. He keeps his chams in the low 90's, so this guy has been freezing. Said to give him the spa treatment, raise temps to low 90s, 80s at night, ceramic heat emitter, humidity as high as I can keep it, and to keep in touch.

Here he is today... no gaping. No snot. No rattling breathing.
Should I move this thread over to the health clinic?

What kind of lights do you have? Cold won't make him gape like that with sunken in eyes. They come from rain forests. You have to replicate his habitat to be similar to the rain forests of Madagasgar. Can you get him a fogger? I use a sonic humidifier made by TaoTronics. I buy them from Amazon for about $30. Do you have a mister? Live plants?

Hand misting, pothos & ficus, dripper, have turned on a cool most humidifier in his room now.

Started a new thread in the health clinic wth how to ask for help information. Have also called the local herp vets office to get a game plan if I need emergency services.
