Glad you're getting to go. I live in Texas too and it will be a nice break from our summer weather. I went a couple years back to Oahu and actually had a local guy show me where some were. When I went with him, we found nothing, lol. But then I went back during the night and using my spotlight I found roughly 15 of them. Surprisingly, most of my finds were literally paces off the main road. I hope you get to see some. Although they're not a native, there is something to be said to seeing a wild chameleon vs. one in captivity. Good luck and stay off that lava rock!!
