Breeding silk worms

Hi i want to breed my silkworms, i have about 20 of them, i have looked i on websites but want info from people who have breed them before and what techniques have been successful with minimum die off's. Is it normal to have black silkworms with white stripes and white with black stripes? these are the first silkworms i have ever ordered..Petkel..
