brev Hatchling!

Well, after approximately 3 months of waiting, my patience has finally paid off. Today (like every other days) i awoke and went straight to my closet to mist my 4 clutches of brev eggs. It was a delightful surprise to see a set of tiny eyes observing me as i was about to perform my morning routine.:) It was a baby brev! This particular little guy hatched from a single egg that was reared by one of my female brevs. Because this female only laid one egg, i was concerned that it may not have been fertile. However, despite my skepticism, i decided to think optimistic and treat the little egg as if though it were fertile. Luckily, my optimism paid off.:D After about a month, i could tell that the egg was fertile and healthy. Tiny veins began to appear around the egg and it took on a grayish hue. The final month was crucial but in the end, my diligence and patience produced a "tic-tac- size" miracle! Thanks to those who made this possible by giving me vital advice and tolerating my impatience! Here he is, baby Sheldon! :DThanks again guys and Gals, and wish me the same luck with my other 3 clutches! I also know that it must be nearly impossible to sex brev's at this age, but based on my observations, i think he is a male. Am i right, or just over-observant?

Very cool, maybe I can buy some brevs from you next year. Right now I'm saving to get all the materials together. I live in the bay area. By the way is there any breeders in the Bay Area, CA? The pet stores won't tell me who they are.

Grats! That little one is for sure a small cham!

Hopefully I will get some Brevs in the near future.

Hi Cala,

Congratulations!

When you say that you are misting the eggs.. what do you mean? Can you describe your incubation method?

I think from your picture, I would lean towards male also.. cute little fellow!

Thanks you guys! I dont know of any breeders in the bay area, however, i do know that the East bay Vivarium usually has a good selection of chams, including brevs. Last time i was there, i didn't see any but when they have them, they usually are around 30 dollars. I personally think thats a bit expensive, but they usually seem to be healthier then the ones i got from LLL. To answer your question, Heika, i meant to say that i was misting around the egg, not directly on it. Basically i just keep the pearlite moist but not wet. :)
Thanks again for the support! :D
