Broken tail? infection?? Help!

Just notice this on his tail get dramatically worse today.. I dont have a reptile vet specialist near me. As much help as possible would be much appreciated. photo 2 (1).jpg
 
If you do put Neosporin or Polysporin on it, make sure to use the kind without the pain reliever in it.
 
My opinion for what it is worth.

This chameleon has an infection that progressed further than just something topical at this point. I highly doubt any neosporin or polysporin is going to do the trick. They are more of a preventative on a fresh to semi fresh wound to help keep debris or bacteria to settle in. This wound is past that point. The area is raised with skin discoloration. I would recommend a vet visit. Till then i would clean the wound manually, submerge/soak the wound in a provodone iodine/water solution till you take the chameleon in.
