Bulbs

I'm not sure which bulbs to use for my baby panther chameleon. Is a 50w basking bulb ok with a repti glo 5.0 compact (coil bulb) or should it be a fluorescent?

Sounds good, you dont want the repti glo 10.0 in a "bulb". Later on in life you should switch them to a "tube".

The basking light wattage is based on how hot it makes the basking spot. Make sure its at an angle, and the spot doesnt get above about 35c.

Yes thank you! Once he starts maturing I will be getting a custom cage so will get different lighting set ups for that. I was just concerned about the coiled light. After I bought it I read it could blind them:(

That was a problem in like 2009 and it has been corrected. The tube bulbs just cast a wider (inch wise) uvb range
