Bump I have noticed under 2yr old nosy mitsio male pls help

i feed him locusts that are gut loaded with rapashy gut loader an with potatoe and then i use calci powder rapashy to dust every feed every 2 days does that sound about right

hope u have taken no offense to anything i have said carol i really do appreiciate ur advice given to me an thank u just dont get why his pads are big when i dont over feed him i took a look at pics an do see what ur saying:D

No hard feelings here! We are all here to help one another as we all share a love for chameleons. Maybe there is something else going on to enlarge the pads like that and not due to over feeding. I do not know of any known condition, but maybe someone else with more experience than I can comment. It might not be anything it all, but it is just not the norm for them to be that big.

The lobes arent necessarily fat storage but they are retaining fluid quite possibly due to edema. As carol stated before, i would look deeply into your supplement schedule, gut loading, types of feeders and if i were you i would investigate what is being fed to the bugs before you receive them.

That is a thought John. I am always eager to learn new things myself. That is why I spend WAY too much time on here!!

ok carol an thank u ever so much for ur help an u are right we do all share a love for them i love my boy as im sure u all do urs:D

same here carol i am always eager to know all i can about health conditions on pathers so i have a better understanding an can help an have more ideas of what the problem is when my boy is ill or if some1 else needs advice:)

so do i carol does that sound right to u though carol that i feed him locusts 2 every 2 days gut loaded with rapashy gut loader an then dusted in rapashy calci powder

Repashy's bug burger along with cal plus have preformed vitamins. Which could "possibly" be the source of the issue.
The forums recommend plain phosphorus free calcium without D3 to be used at every feeding. A multivitamin (Many multivitamins have D3 in it) to be used a couple times a month.

thank u can u recommend a good phos free calci powder an multi vitamin to use for me pls thank u for the info much appreiciated:)

Ty ataraxia an i would just use that instead of the rapashy cali powder yes an whats a good vitimin to give him or is the rapashy super load enough ty

You say you are using the Repashy "gutloader" .. do you mean the Bug Burger to feed to your locusts? or do you mean the Repashy Calcium that you dust them with?

hi carol i use the rapashy superload powder to gutload the locusts as well as potatoe which i wont be using now as i checked as its not the best to use so will switch i dont use bug burger so i have just ordered zoo meds repti calcium without d3 and phospahte free to use as a dust every feed is there a good vitamin dust u could recommend and how often would i use the vitamin as i know its not with every feed like u do the calcium powder

just feel very let down by the breeder i got him from as the info on supplements etc he gave me was wrong miles out ty u carol an atakari for ur help i am now gutloading on rapashy superload dry food with kale water cress an carrots and i have ordered some vitamins and phos free d3 free zoo med calci powder hopefully i will see an improvement in his pads an bump now i have him on the right regime many thanks to u both again :D

Most of us on here use a multivitamin twice a month or so. We try to provide vitamins naturally through our gutload instead of artificially. Sounds like you are trying to do everything to help your chameleon and you truly do care about his well being. I wish you the best of luck with him and keep us updated on him.

just trying to do all i can the right way so he lives the longest he can an so he is as healthy as he can be i have taken everything u have said into account an changed supplements an vitamins hope it helps ty for all advice are the exo terra vitamins ok
