Butterfly Feeding

so no butter flys ..... all we get in canada are monarch... soo what moths are ok.??? we got alot of bugs up north in the bush..... any suggestions when i get to the cottage this year???

Unless you can slap a 100% pesticide-free label on that sucker, I don't suggest feeding anything caught outside.

At last Tuesday's SBCK meeting, Summoner12 brought in some Mulberry Farms test batches(?) of Painted Lady butterflies, still cocooned. My batch has been hatching this weekend. My Veiled has eaten 3-4 of them and my Panther munched-down a couple too :). For them, it's kinda like eating popcorn. If they ever go into full production and are "feeder" priced, I'd buy them as winged treats :). I was given a few hornworm moths a while back and it looked like Panther was eating a humming bird. Those moths were really big :eek:.
 
Thats Cool Dave But Im not sure I could Safely identify a butterfly species by looking at it, so im not taking chances. We have one very similar here, cant remember its name though.
