Adorable! Can age b determined by length of "horns"? I have no experience with chameleons, but this appears to b a great source of info! My daughter caught this one, I wonder how old he could be. Much Aloha!

It is difficult to judge age in wild chameleons but I don’t see any wear and tear on the back spines and the horns aren’t full size. I would guess that 8 mos to 2 years.

We live near the airport and Halawa Valley on the south coast of Oahu.

Does he ever lunge at you?

Actually that's a she. The horns are confusing.
She will lunge only if you actually touch her or are close enough to touch. Otherwise she just shows me her karate chop hand to let me know it's her territory. She could have moved up but she was also waiting to be fed so refused to move.

Your absolutely right...it is obviously a she! I should have been paying more attention!
Sounds like she's a good girl...not lunging much!
