I tried a living vivarium once and I failed completely, I was just wondering what's the best way to build one or the best cage to build for a adult veild chameleon because I need help.

well i personally like the 4x2x2 foot screen cage and just put a umbrella plant and some vines but idk if u want this or if u still want to go with the viv

I have a custom built cage. I took a small 22'X36' bookshelf from walmart and aluminum screen frames to build it up to 7 ft then added drain system. Its a lot of fun to let your imagination go when building for your little guy and most likely they will love it.

If you mean you tried a self-contained vivarium with live soil, soil cleaning organisms, cycling filtered water and live plant cover, those can be pretty difficult to maintain for one chameleon.

Larger part screen or screen setups tend to be easier to adjust and design, and most chams do fine in them. Some people have more enclosed terrariums than others, but as long as you can provide the correct range of temp, humidity, air exchange they work. Monitoring conditions is key to managing them.
